Geotechnical and Civil Engineering Under One Roof
Moment Engineering is a licensed California professional engineering firm specializing in geotechnical investigation and civil site design. We serve homeowners, architects, contractors, and developers across Southern California — from initial soils report through final plan check approval.
Having both geotechnical and civil engineering disciplines in-house means fewer coordination delays, tighter integration between recommendations and design, and a single point of contact for your project's engineering scope. Most of our projects are combined-scope — soils report plus grading plan, or geotech investigation plus stormwater compliance — delivered by one team.

Engineers Who Answer the Phone
When you call Moment Engineering, you talk to an engineer — not a call center. Our team is small by design, so your project gets direct attention from start to finish.
Fahad Masud, P.E.
Licensed PE with backgrounds in both private geotechnical practice and Caltrans. His dual grounding in financial analysis and field engineering shapes how Moment scopes and delivers work — analytically rigorous on both the engineering and the budget.
Clarissa Mims
Civil engineer with agency-side experience at Virginia Beach Planning and design-side experience at Caltrans. She knows what reviewers look for — which helps Moment's grading and stormwater plans sail through plan check on the first round.
Peris Salih, P.E.
Licensed PE who has worked construction management, geotechnical field work, and municipal engineering for the City of El Cajon. Brings a municipality perspective that helps reports move through plan check efficiently.
Corey Mims
Manages Moment's geotechnical operations from field scheduling through lab testing and final reporting. Caltrans-certified in CT 125 AGG, CT 226, and CT 227. The link between every phase of an investigation.
Ira
Runs client communications, proposals, invoicing, and the HubSpot CRM. Former HVAC operations manager. Ensures no inquiry goes unanswered and every client interaction reflects the firm's standard.
Jupiter
Jupiter is a long-haired Corgi and the undisputed head of morale at Moment Engineering. His responsibilities include quality control on office snacks, strategic sun-spot selection, and providing mandatory stress relief during plan check season. What he lacks in a tail he more than makes up for in full-body wiggles. Jupiter has never missed a day of work and has never failed to improve one.
